Residential & Business Incentives

Federal incentives, grants, and low-interest loans are available for renewable energy systems placed on your home or business.

There is currently a 30% federal tax rebate, so if you owe any taxes, 30% of your system’s cost will be applied as a credit to what you owe. Any remaining amount will be carried forward to the next year. The federal tax incentive will no longer be available after December 31, 2025. See our blog post for more details.

Most systems have 8-15 year payback periods. It is like paying upfront for 40 years of energy.

Rural Business and Farms

The USDA's REAP Program, or Renewable Energy for America Program, offers a 25% grant and loan guarantees to qualifying rural businesses. For example, a poultry farm could have over 55% of their system paid for, not including the 85% depreciation!
